Poetry blogging: “where I read the word”

rain and that dress
(the hangover poem)
B Northcut, 1991
not a real
sleep
just the waiting
for the next
batch of manic polaroids
to bloom behind my eyes
but when I come back
I am holding the one
of you
by the door
the lavender iron lightning
in the trees behind
and the curve
of your cream back
where
I read the word yes
