Here’s my tattoo, now give me a good job and a safe country to live in

According to my page stats, a fair number of people visit my “Heads Past” page. If you are one of them, you may know why I’m posting this bit, via Crunch Gear.

Our friends at the FBI will soon begin collecting and maintaining an extensive, and expensive, database of the identifying physical characteristics, including tattoos, of a big whole bunch of people:

a $1 billion, 10-year project to map identifying characteristics of millions of suspects, including palm prints, eye scans, and tattoo maps.

Millions? Are there really millions of suspects of any kind out there?

Kimberly Del Greco, the FBI’s Biometric Services section chief, said adding to the database is “important to protect the borders to keep the terrorists out, protect our citizens, our neighbors, our children so they can have good jobs, and have a safe country to live in.”
